Chandigarh is shared capital for only 5 years as when in 1966 Haryana was carved out it was not in position to build capital so ministers of Haryana of that time request punjab to make share capital for 5 years then Haryana will be building its capital and chandigarh will remain part of punjab and its capital as it is. But after 5 years they refused their promise
